Make sure Calderon plays point guard around Clarkson

  • Today, the Cavaliers held team training for NBA MT Coins the first round of the playoffs. After the training, Cavaliers coach Tyron Lu received an interview about the rotation.

Lu confirmed that the Cavaliers plan to use 10 people for rotation. "We will use 10 people for rotation," Lu said. "We'll see how it works. If someone does not perform well in this round, it may be reduced to 9 people."

Lu believes that 12 to 13 of the team have demonstrated their ability to play, but the lineup cannot contain too many people. "I talked to the players who had left the rotation. They said they understood. For those players who entered the rotation, make sure they are ready," Lu said.

"We used to play nine rotations in the postseason, but I think it's important to get ten people playing this time, because I like to have Jordan Clarkson and a point guard at the same time, and that's when 10 players rotate." Calderon will be on stage to ensure that we have a point guard at all times, because we know that Corey Joseph will press hard and disrupt the point guard. So he keeps a point guard on the court for us. It's very important," Lu explained.

Lu continued: "The challenge is that everyone is healthy now when the playoffs begin. We always have injuries during the regular season. Finding the right combination of lineups is now probably the biggest challenge. But I have confidence in the resources we have at hand. I have confidence in our plans, I am confident of the players and we are ready. I think Jordan (Clarkson) and Larry (Little Nans) are very excited to participate in the playoffs and I am happy for them."
