"The Rose Tree" is a traditional English Reel (4/4 time), although Scotland and Ireland also lay claim to this tune. But alas, the true origin of this tune has almost certainly been lost . However, it is a popular tune in English, Scottish and Irish sessions, and I have even heard renditions by Blood and Thunder bands in Ulster as well as Morris dancers throughout England.
